Hugh RSS Alerter collects the following data from you:
Hugh RSS Alerter uses the URLs of the RSS feeds you enter to check for updates to the feeds. The names you assign to each RSS feed are stored in order to display them in the extension. These informations are both collected from the popup window of the extension. They are collected by text fields into which you can choose to write the information, and submit the information to the extension.
The URLs of the feeds are stored in the browser's local storage. They are used to fetch the RSS Feeds from the server associated with each RSS Feed URL, at regular polling intervals. The server at each RSS Feed URL will see an http or https connection originating from your computer, at regular polling intervals. The server will see any information sent in that http or https request, including your user agent data, date/time, and your computer's IP address. The extension does not share the URLs with myself or any other parties, other than the web servers associated with the URLs themselves. The extension does not itself explicitly send any information to the RSS Feed URLs, other than the information automatically included by the browser itself in the headers of the http or https requests, i.e. user agent, IP Address, date-time, and so on.
The names you assign to each feed are also stored in the browser's local storage. They are not sent to any external servers, not even the web servers associated with the RSS Feed URLs. The extension does not share the names with myself or any other parties.
In the future, it is intended to provide a facility to enter a license key. When you enter the license key, this will enable certain functionalities, that will be disabled without the key being entered. The key will be provided to the extension by the user, and will not be sent to any external servers. The extension does not share the key with myself or any other parties. The information will be collected by the extension from a text field into which you can choose to write the information, and submit the information to the extension.
